As part of Dortmund Digital Week in September 2025 (#DIWODO 2025), we teamed up with our partner BIG direkt gesund to organize an event dedicated to a key topic for the future: How can companies make meaningful use of health data to strengthen their employees in the long term and reduce absenteeism?
Under the title “The smart way to a healthy company – health data in the digital age,” it became clear that prevention today goes far beyond the traditional recording of absenteeism. With a holistic approach that combines medical, psychological, and lifestyle-related data, patterns can be identified that were previously hidden.
Our research shows that factors such as sleep quality, exercise, body weight, and habits are closely related to health in the workplace. People who sleep well, exercise regularly, and maintain healthy routines not only reduce their risk of illness, but also significantly lower the number of days they are absent from work in the long term.
These findings form the basis for data-driven health management that enables companies to actively shape health. This is how a new culture of responsibility is growing. Our goal is to establish scientifically sound and digitally supported prevention as a natural part of modern working environments. Here you can find the results we presented at DIWODO:
