The planned Federal Institute for Prevention and Education in Medicine (BIPAM) wants to take a new approach to communicating with citizens. Ute Teichert, Head of Department 6 at the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG), said at an expert discussion held by the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Sustainable Development that the institute no longer wanted to simply send messages along the lines of: behave, exercise, eat healthily.
In future, the aim is to ask more about the reasons behind health behavior. This is based on an approach of the World Health Organization (WHO): Behavioral and Cultural Insights. This aims to understand factors that influence health behavior.
